Ploy Saeng Festival has been held by TCDC to open doors of opportunity for creative people to present their creative original works. This exhibition also represents the meeting place for creative entrepreneurs and potential customers to exchange ideas leading to the development of products. The past exhibitions had been successfully held with different topics but the same theme, which is the creativity in the process of "thinking, doing and eating".
The 7th Ploy Saeng Festival can be regarded as the special occasion. The past exhibition had been held as the presentation of new entrepreneurs but the current exhibition is the presentation of "100 original Thai products" from "100 creative idols" The exhibition is intended to show us their inspiration from small things which lead to greater things. Ploy Saeng 100Festival : 100 Creative Idols Present 100 Original Thai Producs had been held ad exhibition Room 2, TCDC during 2 February - 13 March, 2011.
In the exhibition area, presented objects with signs of description and opinion of each item had been placed with ample space to allow visitors thinking space. They could stop to consider the depth of opinion from creative people in different fields such as advertisement, architecture, arts and antique, animation, crafts, design, fashion, moving and still photography, technology and software, music, performing arts, printed media, broadcasting media, tourism, Thai food and Thai traditional medicine.
With different backgrounds of these idols, it was no wonder then that there were different types of objects chosen for this exhibition. There were simple and minimal objects like Thai alphabets lesson book, which was a familiar sight, and innovative contemporary designs such as Mr.P Lamp by Mr.Chaiyuth Plypetch. Everything was placed regardless of its types or zoning. Objects of the same types were placed separately with the intention to make this exhibition interesting and fascinating.
Moreover, there were sitting areas within exhibition area for inspiring viewing experiences ranging from old movies such as Hanuman and Seven Super Heroes to contemporary movies such as GTH's Fan Chun or clips from Thongchai Mcintyre's concerts.
After visiting the exhibition, visitors would at least realize the hidden value of Thai products in everyday life. Even better, if they were further inspired to create something else, this Ploy Saeng 100 Festival could be considered greatly successful indeed.
